View Full Version : How can I re-author my DVD to put the left channel audio also on the right channel?

Hi everyone. I have a problem. I have a DVD of home movies that I authored on my standalone Pioneer DVD recorder. The problem appears to be that when the DVD was originally made (copied from VHS), the right channel audio was recorded with an annoying AC hum that is not evident at all on the left channel. Now when I play the disc, unless I unplug the right channel speaker, I always hear that annoying hum. My question is, is there any way to re-code the existing VIDEO_TS files so that the left channel audio can also exist on the right channel (removing the existing right channel audio)? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Carlos.

You can extract the video and audio stream with PgcDemux.
Then you can edit the audio part with an audio tool (e.g.Soundforge, Nero Wave Editor).
Here you can use a hum filter to eleminate the annoying hum or simply copy the left channel over to the right channel.
Now you have to mux the streams again (e.g. MuxMan).
After that, you can exchange the original humming PGC with the edited clean one using VobBlanker.
