Is there a program or procedure to change the DV AR flag (16:9 <-> 4:3) without recompressing and resizing?
Thanks!

I saw this by "DV Date Time Changer" from video2dv.com.

@kovi
can you be a little more specific :)
What's the purpose of that change?
I'm asking this 'cause if you are going to Encode it to MPEG2 for DVD Authoring you don't need to change the DV flags.

Hi Rockas,
Sometimes when you drag "16:9" DV.avi streams from a proper "wide-screen capable" DV camcorder the 16:9 DAR flag is incorrectly set to 4:3 :scared:
It's just a bit of an inconvenience not to have the stream set to the correct DAR...

Yes I can see that (It happens to me - and my camera - all the time:)) but my doubt is only what is the purpose of that video?
My camera can make 16:9 but my capture software only gets 4:3 but I never bothered about that 'cause all my captures go to DVD so... I can change the aspect ratio (if I capture as AVI) on the encode step or... I change the aspect ratio on the IFO file (if I capture as MPEG2).
This is why I asked about the purpose of his video... if he is going to encode it... he doesn't need to bother about that :)

Personally speaking...
I find it useful to correct the flags (if needed) of the DV.avi stream, if I'm intending to play/view the capture in a software meda player.... I hate watching stuff at the wrong aspect ratio ;)

True, recompressing offers this option to convert. But sometimes if you don't want to recompress (quality loss) the best is to work with the original.
My Canopus DV codec automatically resamples 16:9 DV to 1024x576. It is a quite good option... But sometimes I need to work with the "original" pixels... Without builtin resample, whatever.
Anyways, thanks, I'll try DV Date Time Changer.
Thanks everyone!
