I've a Hauppauge 250 TV-Tuner which I will use to record Analogue antenna TV and then convert it to XviD. But I can't figure out which settings I should use to get a good quality with 180 MB for 20 minutes TV. Mine are either large files or poor quality.

Can anyone tell me which settings in Hauppauge and how to convert to Xvid and MP3 without loosing too much quality?

This seems like a strange answer, but the more you blur your signal the better the compression. You need the Hauppage tweak tool, and set a lower sharpness, or enable median filter, or enable temporal filter.

Where do you see Hauppauge Tweak tool on that site?

Sorry, it's got frame navigation so you can't copy links.

Hi!

Just curious about your math. I believe 1.6Mb for 15 seconds extrapolates to 192Mb for 30 minutes...

Yeah, whatever it's still okay :)
