i havent had this much of an issue with agk and xvid blockiness before.
however, im encodong my season 1 dvds of the sopranos to 350megs xvid. 192 VBR audio. and i get EXTREME blockiness on darkscenes or dark clothing. i searched and found some threads from more than a year ago that recommended settings the option ESS for standalone support. nothing new exists for the new versions of xvid or new version of agk. (ill continue searching for more as i post this)
so i set the hidden options to use STANDALONE ESS option. now my encode comes out completely blocky with a filesize of 120-150 megs (never the same size) i've run it through 4 times.
im using agk 2.20 and according to startmenu/programs/xvid/release notes.txt XviD-1.1.0-30122005 _Final Release_.
can anyone tell me how to fix this? btw, i view my encodes on my television. settings i use for the encodes are a fixed width of 640. each episode is 42-44 minutes.
