iv`e been trying to save my avi`s onto dvd as data,but when i then delete the film from my computer and load it back from the dvd,it says files missing.I use canopus easy dv for editing.can anyone help

What burning software and DVD media are you using? Pretty much any file burned to CD/DVD should be just as usable to your system as the original file was; so there must be either a formating/finalizing problem, or a lot of bad sectors on the media.
Try making sure that you're burning a finalized DVD (closed session or disk-at-once) and see what happens. Many problems seem to crop up if the disk is in multisession mode with certain burning software.

i use nero 6.6 and i edit on ezdv.

1) What is "it"? What program says this?
2) What SPECIFIC files are missing?

when i try to load my data avi`s back from the dvd,i get a message from my computer saying (it can`t load as their are files missing}

On your computer, are you able to PLAY the .AVIs from the DVD?

only until i delite the original files from my computer,after that i get a message saying it cant load as files are missing

You should right click on the files on the actual dvds and check that they are real files and not just shortcuts to files on your hard disk.
