View Full Version : Sonic Soft Encode keeps crashing

I had a problem before with Sonic Soft Encoding constantly crashing even if the wav file source was 1kb in size. The only resolution unfortunately was to blow away the system and rebuild from scratch. On XP by the way. Well, I installed Sony SoundForge 8 and tried launching Soft Encode shortly after. Said it was not installed right. Removed Soft Encode and after uninstalling Soft Encode, reinstalled it. Still crashing. Install the software on another system and the same wav converts fine. Since I'd prefer not to rebuild the machine again, any ideas what could be causing this and what to clean out?

Thanks.

It's not clear in your post - Have you ever had SoftEncode working properly for you?

There once was the trick with uninstalling the crashing app the removing all registry keys left (manually) and reinstalling.

PLZ report back :(

Daphy,

That's it. Cleared all references to soft encode from the registry and reinstalled. Working again. Thanks for the help.
