I captured an episode of AxxxxxxN IxxL (720p) and am trying to make Xvid using:
AviSynth to Virtualdubmod. (Add orig. AC3, cut commercials, save audio to AC3, encode)
After editing out commercials, everything looks great until after the second commercial cut, the audio goes 24 seconds out of sync.
To try to find out what is happening, I encoded through a commercial break, and found the video stuttering, starting on the 4th commercial, and continuing through the rest of the commercials.
When the program comes back on, the stutter stops.
I have a sample of a commercial starting with audio in sync, then video stutter starting and audio sync going out: here (http://home.comcast.net/~nebula8/vid/stutter.avi)
I just use selecteven() to convert to 29.9fps. That appears to make it (the program) progressive with no decimate needed.
I've used the same virtualdub edit method for quite a long time and have never had a problem until now.
PS I would really like to preserve the original 5.1 AC3
