View Full Version : Just the movie on 2 DVD-R's

All I want to do is put the movie on 2 DVD-R's. I don't need the menus and all the extras. I've stripped the VOB, and created a new IFO, but I get into trouble when I try to split that IFO into '2 discs'.
What am I doing wrong?
Do I need to take the entire DVD and not just the movie?

Hi!

Just my opinion - As long as you have to use two discs, you might as well copy the ENTIRE DVD - and use the OLD (freeware) DVD Fab v.0.17 to easily split it. You can get DVD Fab v.0.17 at:

Fab didn't work. Had an error reading.
(Disc is Walk the Line)

Had an error reading. You did first rip (decrypt and copy) the DVD to your hard drive, didn't you?

you should try dvdshrink (it's pretty much newbie friendly)

http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/dvdshrink31-main.htm

make sure you read the whole thing, so you will understand what to do

if you need anymore help, come by for another visit

Uhhhhhh......
:stupid:

I have used DVDDecry+IFOEdit before...so I'm not a total loser.

I have used DVDDecry+IFOEdit before...so I'm not a total loser. No one's suggesting that. It's just that when I recommended using DVDFab v.0.17, I didn't mention that it will only process already-decrypted DVD "packages".

1) Would you please post the exact wording of the error message generated by DVDFab v.0.17?

2) Have you played back your harddrive rip to see if it plays properly, from start to finish?

3) Just for my knowledge I'd ask, did you rip the entire DVD or only the movie?

I haven't tried ripping it to my HD yet.

I've gone ahead with DVDDecry though, and IFOEdit, and already split in into the 2 Discs. When I get home (I'm at school), I'll finish it off this way, and try with DVDFab.

Will DVDFab let me just rip the movie to 2 DVD-R's?

I haven't tried ripping it to my HD yet.I thought your earlier post meant that you DID rip it to your hard drive...That's why DVDFab v.0.17 generated an error. It works ONLY with decrypted/ripped files...

Just to make certain, it is DVDFab v.0.17, obtained at http://www.mrbass.org that you're using - and NOT DVDFab Decrypter/DVDFab Gold/DVDFab Platinum/DVDFabExpress or any other "DVDFab", right?

Sorry. No, I didn't rip it to the HD. Didn't know I had to the first time. Ya, I have that DVDFab version.

Using the IFOEdit guide, Disc 1 works, but Disc 2 doesn't.

Will try with DVDFab now.
