I have a DVD that has those special buttons where in the middle of the movie during certain times, they pop-up and you can click on them for more information. I think these are button highlights?

The problem I'm having is that they seem to be turned on by default after using DIF4U and the rest. Also, I don't think it can be turned off. Is there anyway to fix the structure so it will only be turned on when I go through the main menu and select it? Otherwise, it will just be off by default.

which movie is this?
the special buttons you are referring to is commonly known as BOV (button over video) and is now fully supported by scenaid.

did you do any manual pre-processing of the movie?

did you de-select any of the pgc's in dif4u?

what was your workflow for this dvd?
eg.
numenu > dif4u > scenaid > batchcce > muxman > batchifoupdate?

cheers

Trying to do Kamikaze Girls R1. For DIF4U, I just followed the guide and let it select the defaults PGCs. In DIF4U, it showed VTS01 having 2 PGCs, but it only selected the second one.

The only preprocessing I did was to blank out a couple of extras with VOBBlanker. After that, I just made an image (new image does the BOV correctly also) and started DIF4U>sceneaid>batchcce>scenearist>batchifoupdate. Didn't re-encode menus.

how are you testing the re-authored dvd btw?

my guess is that pgc_1 == pgc_2 with the only difference being that if pgc_1 is played via the menu, only the "standard" subtitles are avaliable, however if pgc_2 is selected (again via the menu), only the BOV subpics are displayed.

so ....
either something went wrong with ifoupdate stage, or its in the method of your testing thats causing inconsistencies ... or maybe something random that i cant think of right now :)

My test was just to play through PowerDVD after the batchupdate.

please try testing in something other than powerdvd - it is notoriously bad at testing subpicture streams ....
try using ifoedits dvd play function

Same thing happens with ifoedits dvd play. Defaults to the BOV with no way of turning it off.

I just noticed that the original IFO in ifoedit shows 2 sub streams while the re-authored one only has 1. How did that happen?

did you remove any substreams in dif4u?

Can you post the ifo info of both the original and reauthored dvd please?

Did not remove any streams in dif4u. One note though, pre-processing I also removed a 2.0 stream and just left in the 5.1, but that shouldn't really be a problem. I have attatched the ifos.

Can you please paste the relevant info (or host te ifos somewhere else). I'm not sure if it contains any copyrighted material, so just in case.

Ifos can be found here. (http://www.hulkmad.com/files/ifos.rar)

in scenarist are both substreams imported and allocated to VTS_01?
in your "subs" folder in your VTS_01 demux folder are there two sub-folders in there with relevant .sst and .bmps?

if so, what are your batchifoupdate settings?

I did have a couple of problems importing into Scenarist. The highlights were off and it told me to select one stream for Wide and one for Pan.

In this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=107364) Zeul helped me fix the .SCP so scenarist would actually import and build.

In the demux folder, there are 2 sub folders. For the 1st sub folder there are 2 .sst's and a lot of .bmps, however in the 2nd sub folder there is only 1 .sst and 1 .bmp.

My BatchUpdateIfo 0.9.0.10 is done in reverse order with all options in options checked.

hmm
I have a vague recolection of removing a substream because it was all over the place (I thought that you had manually tried to alter the single stream). If you want to repost the scp (straight from scenaid without alteration) we can fix it again and keep the 2nd stream. :stupid:

The original SCP is here (http://www.hulkmad.com/files/ScenAid30.rar). A note that I haven't added the 4:3 pan-scan thing to it yet either.
