Hi there,
It's my first time posting here, so apologies if this has been covered in earlier threads. Here's my current challenge: I'm working for a company that wants to distribute DVD content as ASFs, keeping the 5.1 surround audio (using the Windows Media 9 Professional codec).
Now, I'm able to use FairUse Wizard to get the content into AVI format with the 5-channel AC3 audio stream(with some additional features we need, like the ability to crop off the top and bottom black letterboxing bars and also to burn the subtitle text into the video frames), but I cannot for the life of me find a utility out there that will convert the AVI to ASF while keeping the 5.1. The closest I've come is Vegas, which doesn't actually ingest AC3 audio - I'd have to break up the stream using something like BeSweet and recombine it, and potentially run into video/audio synching issues.
My question is this: Does anybody know of a tool, or process, that I can use to do one of the following:
- Convert an AVI to ASF with WM9 video and WM9 Pro 5.1 audio, or
- Do the whole thing, Rip a DVD to ASF format, WM9/WM9 5.1, while cropping the video letterboxing bars and burning in subtitle text
I'm stumped, so I appreciate the insight anybody can give me on this. Thanks in advance; this site is a great resource!
