Screen show green when playing avi (WMV3 codec)

When playing an avi file (divx, wmp3,xvid, etc avi container codec), the video occasionally displayed green throughout the playback! What is wrong

There could be more reasons (in order of likeliness)
1. Most probable a codec problem, something you have is causing conflicts.
2. A player problem. Try another one (media player classic).
3. You oveclocked your video card too much and it isn't stable enough.
4. You drank too much last night.

I suggest you clean your codecs, unnistall everything and install some basic stuff (to begin with install only Divx and put it to decode also xvid, if this doesn't cause problems continue installing other things you may need). A good configuration that should play fine: FFDShow latest build, Haali splitter, VSfilter, media player classic. (and especialy don't install more than one filter that does the same thing).
