Why does a file appear twice?

Hi,

Perhaps I'm a bit thick so bear with me.
I have d/l 5 .avi files and converted them to .mpeg1 files to play on my DVD recorder. I burnt the files successfully to disc but instead of being files 1,2,3,4,5 on the DVD recorder/player the dvd shows 1,1,2,3,4? The .mpegs do play.
However,

Files 1,2,3,4,5 are named;
THBB01 ~ 1.mpeg
THWOR ~ 1.mpeg
THWOR ~ 2.mpeg
THWOR ~ 3.mpeg
THWOR ~ 4.mpeg




Both files '1' are the same?

Can anyone advise please on how I get the 5 .mpeg files to play properly?:confused:
