i've used vobblanker, and after removing the extras from the dvd Natural Born Killers which is blanking all VTS from 3-11 I got the movie as unplayble in PowerDVD. So i am wondering what is another way to remove these extras from the DVD without corrupting the actual dvd.

Would dvdshrink be recommended?

Thanks

Would dvdshrink be recommended? If you don't mind losing the menu(s), yes. You would then use DVD Shrink in "Re-authore" mode...

no, you see i want to keep menus and subtitles and english audio i just wanna strip everything else.

I used DVDREmake to blank all vobs it didnt work used vobblanker it didnt work, used dvdrebuilder menu+movie it still didn't work as some extras were still there, and it seemed the menu was removed.

I just want a foolproof method to easily blank out the extras, because i believe it would allow me to keep the video untouched if extras were removed

I don't know why you haven't been successful using the software you've named - but here's an alternative you might want to try (It's not really complicated, it only looks that way):

Active menu after re-authoring in DVD Shrink

(Don't be misled by the statement "Do not re-author")

The method described works quite nicely, with two caveats, one significant and the other easily resolved:

1) The menu MUST be contained (as the "VTS_0x_0.VOB") in the same .VOB sequence as the movie

2) The .VOB sequence MUST be "VTS_01_x.VOB" (If this is not originally the case, you can change to this numbering sequence AFTER using DVD Shrink to rip the menu/movie sequence of .VOBs (by selecting the menu/movie .IFO instead of the "VIDEO_TS.IFO") and before using (the freeware version of) DVDFab's "Create Video Manager" to create the (intentionally) missing "VIDEO_TS.IFO" and "VIDEO_TS.BUP" files

yes, i dont understand why this movie has given me particular problems, i believe because the extras are not a part of one vob, but instead disperssed around multiple vobs, and so its making it very difficult for these programs to remove these vob refrences and resulting in a corrupt Video_ts.ifo (as that is the error i recieve when trying to play through PowerDVD)

I used DVDREmake to blank all vobs it didnt work ...

What do you mean by "didnt work"? What version of the program was used?

i used the latest version, and i simply blanked out the vobs by right clicking on the appropriate PGC and clicking blank for all the pgcs except the main movie and the menu, after exporting dvd and attempting to play it would not work in powerdvd, the same error recieved with vobblanker. It seems that the ifo needs to be corrected so that it skips over these pgc's but im not a fan of ifoedit and doing this

I've never had a problem just using VOB Blanker to do this. :)
