ok i have dvd Shrink, I believe it's the newest version.

It takes me about 35 minutes just to rip this (edit profanity), and shrink it.

I "bought" Domino, and it seriosuly is still ripping at this very moment... it only takes like a minute to burn.

Is there a faster way to burn this (edit profanity) and still compress it?

thanks!!

sorry holistah ;)

I don't mean to flame or whatever ! :stupid:

Your time is already great ! (of course with lots of scsi disk and lots of ghz time will lower)

you can try , after ripping, to use rejig in one pass only.. but quality would be lower (and you must argue the % of lowering !)

Welcom to the forum !

@ holistah

hi and welcome to the forum!

please be advised that this is a family friendly forum, and note that some people may be offended by your use of profanity in your first post. i have removed the offending comments for you this time. please be more careful in future.

i also question your use of "" when mentioning bought - either you have a legitamate copy or you do not ... inferring that you do not, will quickly get any thread you open closed. you have been warned.

alright thanks. Sorry jel, Im new. I guess im use to my VW site forum, where we dont worry too much about the profanity. I'll make sure to watch my mouth lol. thanks again. and yes, I now own the movie. I am trying to make back up copies of my whole DVD collection as so the originals don't get scratched, and thatthese ones can be used without worry of being harmed because i already own it lol.

Taking for ever..this normal?Compared to what? Do you have any previous experience ripping/compressing/burning DVDs? If so, what software and procedures have you used? You state 35 minutes to rip and compress and 1 minute to burn. While the 35 minutes to rip and compress is reasonable on a relatively fast system, your claim of 1 minute to burn is extremely hard to believe, to say the least...

well, it is rather quick. If i could id get a video for you. it is no longer than 3 or 4 minutes, and thats tops.

Since you're asking questions about how much time different procedures take or should take, it would be a good idea if you determined the actual times involved, so that anyone trying to assist you can better determine if/what the problem may be.

If your actual burn time is approximately 4 minutes (as opposed to 1 minute), you are burning your DVDs at 12X or 16X, which is probably not a good idea. Although your burner can burn at this speed, you'll likely be more successful burning at 4X (14-15 minutes) or 8X (6 1/2-7 minutes)...
