Hello.

I'm using Dvd Shrink for long time now. today I backup a disc of seinfeld season 1&2, and after I use the "perform deep analysis" for the first 2 discs, the option suddenly disabled when I tried to backup the 3rd and 4th discs.

Anyone knows why it happened?

Thank's!!

Perhaps no compression is needed so DA is disabled/unused ?

Did you get all the content into DVDShrink, didn't miss an episode ?

no.. the dvd size is more than 6GB.. so compression level is far less than 100%.. this is why I wonder. Now I tried to do ISO mode in DVDDecrypter, and now the option is available again in DVDShrink..

And yes, I get all the dvd content into the shrinker..

So I wonder what the problem was.

:stupid:

it's not a good solution (ISO file) for discs with Arccos protection.. so I still didn't solve this problem!!

Try rebooting your system...

@ seehowyouare
i can not see how this post helps itayab at all. would you care to explain?

@ itayab

could you please post more information on how you have processed these problematic discs and could you please confirm if you receive any errors in dvd shrink or that your only issue is that DA is not performed.

cheers

The OP spent a maximum of 1 minute searching the forums and writing his post.
No OS, no hardware or software details and now we have to play the guessing game to drag the info out.
He didn't even mention disc protection until post 5.
And he stops and starts the app and it works again. Real troubleshooting effort before posting.
Yep, I may be rude but I show respect for other people's time by putting in some effort to research and explain the issue and workarounds I have tried.
We are all noobs in something. But there is a 5 day delay before posting here and I thought it was to discourage poorly prepared questions and subsequent snappy replies like mine.

I should have ignored the post like everyone else did.

PS - thanks for the warning in the Inbox. nice..

@ seehowyouare

i couldnt agree with you more

HOWEVER

we do tend to cut noobs a bit of slack in their first few posts until they find their footing and learn the correct procedure when posting in this forum.

and personal attacks and insults are never tolerated especially when directed at moderators. trust me though, i never take things personally :)

Okay I accept your apologies, and I also understand what was wrong with my message - but I DID make a search before I wrote my question and there was no question like this (I know that if a movie is less than 4.6GB there is no need to do compression, but this wasn't my issue).

Thank's anyway...

So, the issue is gone or still happens when changing Disc2 and 3 ?

I use DVDShrink on 4.7gb ISO to remove the ads/trailers/junk and save with no compression. Takes about 5 minutes from start to complete iso and no more blah blah blah on screen before the movie :-)

I manage to solve this issue with ISO file, and afterwards with the regular FILE mode in DVDDecrypter so it's okay.

Dvdshrink is very good software, but it's main problem (for me..) is that I can't get rid of some things on the disc - without losing the menu. That option is available in CloneDVD2, but that software dosen't have the same compression quality like dvdshrink...

My initial problem was with the 'regular' mode in DVDD, the file mode.

I know that I can deselect audiostreams&subtitles, but I want to get rid of some annoying commercials&stuff like that, and that option is not exist in Dvdshrink (but it's exist in CloneDVD2).

2) I know that I can deselect audiostreams&subtitles, but I want to get rid of some annoying commercials&stuff like that, and that option is not exist in DvdshrinkUnfortunately, that's correct. Using ONLY DVD Shrink, you cannot edit out such items while still retaining the active menu...

I've never used Clone2DVD but a workaround could be -

1) Remove the stuff you don't want with Clone2DVD or VideoRedo
2) Save with no compression
3) Open DVDShrink and compress
