QuicktimePro>>Export>>Movie to MPEG4>>Options Then, the second line from the top, click the downarrow to the right of "Video" and select "Audio"...

You need Quicktime Pro....
You can also use iTunes to convert to AAC, it's the same as quicktime

Found it, thanks.

Is there a reason why I can't choose AAC-LC VBR (grayed out - only AAC-LC and None are highlighted)? My input is a wav file, if that matters...

Edit:Well, I decided to try iTunes. Found it!

Any chance you know why I can't use the vbr settings?

Only a guess on my part - It probably requires that your source file is VBR in order to output as VBR.

Curious to know why VBR audio would be important to you?

Well, I'm used to using vbr with mp3 and ogg. It's weird because iTunes can do vbr...

Doesn't it increase quality overall?

Quicktime,

export
"movie to quicktime movie"

options

sound

look for AAC

there you'll get VBR LC-AAC in .mov

again load the mov

export to mpeg-4

use pass thorugh option....

yeah you get a VBR MPEG-4 AAC now

Didn't work, everything except none and aac-lc is grayed out. :(

Edit: Ok, it worked the second time. I had to quit and reopen Quicktime though. Thanks kotrtim.

Someone posted about this on apple's forums, but they never responded...
