As a newbie, what I discovered to be the easiest way to get clips extracted from DVDs.
1. Use DVD Decryptor to extract the .VOB files from the DVD. (Make sure you configure the settings to create ONE large VOB file rather than a bunch of smaller VOB files.)
2. Rename the .VOB files to .MPG ( at this point you could also use SUPER! to encode to a compressed mp2 avi file)
3. Use Ulead Video Studio 7 (or some other video editing software) to cut the clip into separate clips.
4. Master a new DVD by dropping clips onto a new DVD in any order you like.
