Hello friends,

Have joined 2 dvd's using DVDremake and now I want to burn this to a +R/DL media, but can't. In the first attempt I loaded all files in DVD-video mode on nero 6.6.0.16 but coastered 2 dl medias, the burning stoped at about 41% (using RICOH-JPN). After searching I came across this guide http://www.videohelp.com/~r0lZ/pgcedit/third_party/blutach/dl_burning_with_pgcedit.htm, but that didn't work, at the time I was ready to press OK in the Burn dialog in PGCEdit, I got this message: "Can't find suitable cel for layer break". In this case, the guide tells me to re-author the DVD, but I don't think I need, because the joined material plays ok in software DVD player (PowerDVD - open files in hard disk).

The first DVD was originally a DVD-9 sized a little bit more than 4.7 Gb, the second was DVD-5, both joined gave me ~ 8 Gb.

How I joined: Both DVD's were ripped in DVDD using ISO mode. After that I mounted each disk in Alcohol virtual drives using their corresponding .MDS file. And finally imported both in DVDRemake and Merged.

Thanks fo any help. (PGEdit burn dialog says "DVD-9 at 99.4%)

A Layer Break has to be set to the start of a cell. PgcEdit cannot split a cell, it only can move the content until a cell matches. But your iso size 99.4 % lets no room to shift on media.

Simple solution:
Re-encode/Compress the content ~95 % and you'll get room for cell shifting.
Burn with PgcEdit and forget Nero! In PgcEdit you can preview the Layer Break cell.

Splitting cell in DvdReMake is easier and keeps original quality.
