Hello All
I want to convert a raw avi to mpeg2 for dvd authoring. In CCE SP 2.70.02.06 I select the PAL DVD Template and let everything on default. The problem is, the video looks after encoding like this:

its cutted in the middle an put back wrong together.

I'm really confused. any ideas?

What are the specs of the AVI file?

thx @ Boulder for your Input!
The source avi resolution was 720x387, so I added with virtualdubmod a letterbox to the top and bottom to 720x576px.

now everythink worked :) I'm new to CCE, and with nero vision express was no problem bcause the input resolutions, but I think nero hasnt the same skill

:thanks:

Here also a tip of mine:

FitCD is a tool to help you calculating the exact image size of a SVCD (authored with vcdimager, Nero or I-Author) or a DVDR.

It includes a resizing calculator for optimal (macro)block-usage in MPEGs. You can also export a sample script for use with AVISynth.

Although at first sight the program seems to offer too much information in too small space, it's actually quite handy once you take a minute to figure it out.

At least you got that sorted out ;).

IMO, i dont think you should go with the Default, there is a very In-Depth guide located here

Just scroll down until you see CCE, and try the settings they have.
