Hi all,

I'm currently trying to do some mono to stereo to 5.1 conversions of an old camcorder audio track.

I've tried using Plogue Bidule for the job and got several different kinds of versions. The clips are ~900kB in size.

http://www.saunalahti.fi/sainki/testclip_original.wav (the original sample)
http://www.saunalahti.fi/sainki/testclip_monotostereo48.wav (using the monotostereo48 layout available at needfulthings)
http://www.saunalahti.fi/sainki/testclip_hipan-30_basspan-30.wav (using WiderBoy Pro trial with the layout I created (see link below))
http://www.saunalahti.fi/sainki/testclip_hipan0_basspan0.wav (the same except panning at 0%)

The problem with the methods is that to my ears it sounds like the right channel is much stronger even though the graphs look pretty much alike. The one with panning at -30% is closer to a balance but I'd very much appreciate your opinions and also help in tweaking the plugins to get as close to a real stereo as possible. My ears aren't as good as they used to be so I must ask for your help :)

Thanks!
