1st timer here folks so if I'm posting in the wrong area or whatever please accept my apologies, smack my backside, and send me on my way!!:D

Anyway, here goes.

I have a DVD recorder and I have recorded an item from my TV onto a disc. I now wish to transfer the item onto my harddrive with the wish to edit out adverts, etc.
Can anyone help with with what tools I may need to accomplish this along with any good sites to show tutorials on this issue?

Cheers

Hi!

An excellent (commercial) easy-to-use tool for editing your homebrewn DVDs is "TMPGEnc DVD Author". You can obtain a FULLY functional free 30 day trial version of this commercial program at:

www.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/tda.html

hi jiggajagga and welcome to the forum!

i would also suggest you take a look at the guides that doom9 has written on analog/digital capture and how to process the captured files to your chosen destination (mpeg4/dvd etc etc)

capture guides link (http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/capture.htm)

hope that helps
