I just updated to SP1 on my 2k3 machine, and now DVDShrink wont start (shows up for a split second on the taskmanager, and then vanishes). It worked perfectly before, but now it fails to even load.

I installed the AMD x2 driver, SP1, and all the recent updates. That is all.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hi!

Have you tried UNinstalling DVD Shrink, rebooting (cautionary), REinstalling DVD Shrink, and rebooting (cautionary)?

I have reinstalled 3.2 over itself, and rebooted, but haven't uninstalled it, no. I guess I'll try that, just hope it works :(

Looks like I'm not the only one having trouble:

there hasnt been a new version for like 2 years. get something like Virtual PC and run a windows XP in it and run dvdshrink just in that virtual pc.

It works fine though you have to enable dep for shrink in order for windows 2k3 to allow the program to run.

to do this

right click on "my computer" and select "properties"

"advanced" tab then select "performance options"

click the "data execution prevention" tab

now you have two choices either add the program using the "add" button or slect "turn on dep for essential windows programs and services only"

this feature is also need for some other programs, alcohol 120% won't run on 2k3 without dep been disbaled for the program. As long as you know the program is virus free its safe to turn off dep for the program.

@Shadowfax

Make certain that you have a recent version of DirectX installed on your system...
