I have been encoding my copies of the Star Wars Movies and having a horrible time with the forced subs, lots of wasted encodings, trial and error ect. I though I got it right until I discoverd that I also included the subs for who is taking when the director commments where enabled.

I have been searching for an fast and easy way to find the right subs. This is what I came up with.

1) Rip the subtitles using VSRIP, selecting all tracks forced subs only.

2) Open the IDX file with SubResync.

3) Examining the Subtitle Streams I find all the english titles empy except 2. One contains alien speach only, the other contains alien speaks and director comments speaker names.

I turning off forded subs only would be a better solution, but VSRIP removes the forced sub markers, so when you open it in SubResync none of the subs appear forced.

Anyway this is the easiest solution I have found so far, but I haven't tested it with any of the non-star wars movies.

If anyone has a better method please let me know.

Also I am interested in finding a quick method of dermining whether a DVD includes forced subs, as VSRIP takes too much time to run on every movie?
