first and most importantly thank you to all for sharing skills and knowledge. you have made making backups fun.
anyway, cannot shrink broken flowers. receive the following messages: cannot find handle; cannot contiune because of exception.
have used dvd decryptor, dvdfab decryptor, voblanker, pgcedit and then tried shrink without success.
any thoughts are apreciated.
thank you,
john c.

It appears that you've selected NO files (rather than "ALL" files) to be decrypted and copied to your hard drive. There's no way you ripped the entire DVD in 51 seconds. Your destination folder is undoubtedly empty...

That's a perfectly "clean" rip, with NO indication of any additional/newer copy protection.
If this DVD Decrypter rip, residing on your hard drive is the source you tried to use with DVD Shrink, it's not the cause of the problem.cannot find handle; cannot contiune because of exception.1) Have you previously used DVD Shrink successfully?
2) What version of DVD Shrink are you using?
3) Where did you obtain DVD Shrink?
4) Are you running extremely low on free hard drive space?

thank you for your time. here are four responses:
-yes
-dvd shrink 3.2
-doom 9 site
-no, 100 gigs availalbe
with this clean rip, I am starting to think that perhaps a file has become corrupted in DVD Shrink 3.2 there shouldn't be a problem of reinstalling.
sincerely,
john

there shouldn't be a problem of reinstalling.I'd suggest that you try that. Make certain to UNinstall first, then REboot (cautionary), then REinstall, then REboot (cautionary)...
And if that doesn't work, try performing a "System Restore" back to the last time things were working properly.

appreciate your thoughts which make me think. reinstalled DVD Shrink and gratefully the job is done. i am not going to worry how the program became corrupt as it is okay now.
