Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what exactly is this directory on some DVD's which normally contains 3 mp2 files.

Hi!

Only some standalone DVD players have the ability to display the contents of this folder, most typically when you press the "Stop" key twice on your remote. It's typically a static screen showing an image from the movie and its title - a type of screensaver, if you will...

Also, if you have a DVD disc changer, the smaller picture will be shown as an icon of the currently selected disc...on some players.
