How do I get xvid 2nd pass to work in Vegas 5.0?

Hello,

I tried running xvid in 2nd pass mode in vegas but it didn't generate any video in the avi file. At this point I'm thinking I'll have to render a uncompressed, or huffyuv file first in vegas, then use VirtualDub to compress more. Is this the case, or does somebody know a work around?

If Vegas is as picky with those codecs as Premiere is - then yes Huffyuv -> reencode in VD is one way to do it, the other would be to install Debugmode's framerserver (there is a Vegas version I think) and frameserve it to VirtualDub. Though I recommend you use the Huffyuv approach as it is less prone to errors and should be faster (especially since you're doing 2 passes).
