I'm a bit lost. I'm use to using Sonic DVDit Pro & Adobe Encore 1.5 (yes I did say Adobe Encore) and in both these progams the set up of playlists is pretty easy and straight forward. However, I'm a bit lost as to how to do this in Scenarist.

1stly, I have main menu in my video manager which leads to five seperate 30 min video's with their own chapter menus in seperate VTSs. I have a button on my main menu to 'play all' and a select program, where you are taken to the chapter menu. When selected from the chapter menu and the video has played, it goes back to the chapter menu. However, I want the play all to return to the main menu after playing is completed or the menu button is pushed. How can I do this? Can I do this?

2ndly, can I setup a menu where there's a play standard video and a seperate button for play extended where I want to add (or abridge on the standard) a couple of extra chapters mid way through, and near the end without having two seperate videos?

your first question

The "play all" button should play all five seperate videos one following the other and then return to the main menu?

If so you should do this

Add four PGCs to your LU in VideoManager

In first VTS add a new title (right click on VTS icon - add Title)
drag same track used in first title to the second title (it is only muxed once in the VTS)
a pgc in the title is created
drag the post flag of the pgc to the first previously created pgc in your VideoManager

redo this for every VTS (adjust the post flag, VTS 2 to the second pgc in your VideoManager and so on)
drag the post flag of the second title in your fifth VTS to your VMG menu

drag the pre flag of the first pgc in vmg to the second title in VTS 2, the pre flag of the second pgc to the second title in VTS 3 and so on

link the play all button to title 2 in your first vts

your second question

it is possible but not seamlessly

Yeah, play all five videos one following the other. Just to clarify, I have the same video twice in each VTS.

I have another problem. I origanally set-up individual VTSs for each video, each with it's own chapter menu (only Menu in each VTS). Linked each scene button to it's relevant, and main menu button. But I have a next and previous button on each video menu, so you can cycle through each individual video's chapter menus (would be VTS to VTS). However, it won't let me link from one menu in a VTS to a menu in a seperate VTS. Is there a way around this or am I doing it wrong?

If I set all the chapter menus and video's in one VTS, I can only have one link from my Video Manager main menu. But I have five seperate buttons for that (and a play all).

To link from a VTS to other VTS you need to go through the VMG so you can create fake PGCs that redirect to every VTS. IMHO this is not the best solution. You can made an empty Title Menu in the VMG that redirect to the Main Menu in VTS 1 (for example). Then you can create the true menu in the Main Menu of the VTS. In this mode you can make 6 Titles. The 1st title is a PGC that contains the "Play All" so you drag all the videos in the same PGC and you'll have a PGC with 5 chapters (and video). Then the others 5 PGC contains the single chapters.
