It seems that the PS3 could cost up to $900 to make, according to a 3rd-party estimate. If true, Sony won't go to large-scale production until they can get hardware costs down which will only come with significant delay.

I also hear that PS3 games aren't even as good as 360 games. Sony might want more time for these games to be better polished so that PS3 doesn't look like such a dog.

Sony will be a world of hurt if they miss Christmas 2006.
