I'm trying to master modern AAC coding. It seems that AAC will probably became mainsteram audio codec for my releases.

I've read all docs on how to code AAC with latest tools, downloaded latest dlls for Nero, Winamp 5.2 beta. Also I got latest updates from Kurtnoise and dimzon.

But the task surprisingly took long time, and I still do not see the answer. So I decided to address to superior knowledge of this forum.

What AAC codec/mode would you use for this case? There definitely must be one-two right methods.

the simplest way

http://www.dbpoweramp.com/

download "dbpoweramp music converter"

http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codecs/dBpowerAMP-codec-Nero-mp4.exe

download the nero plugin, and you are ready to encode, so simple

There's is setting called "normal" in Nero preset, you'll get ~80 kbps

Or you can simply get iTunes from http://www.apple.com/
It can encode to AAC for free

Thank you.

I downloaded dBpowerAMP-codec-Nero-mp4.exe from your second link. No shortcuts and no programs appeared though. I suppose sole effect was in Nero Wave editor's save dialog.

Now it is possible to save .mp4 AACs from Wave editor. Ahh! mono sound encodes right. BeLight did awful thing on it.

But there must be way to do same thing from command line.
