Xvid doesn't show up in VirtualDub under Win98SE

Hi,

I'm using the latest version of Vdub under Win98SE to convert some captures to Xvid files. I installed the latest Xvid codec however it doesn't show up as one of the available compression formats in Vdub.

I still have Divx 3 and 4 installed on the machine and these two do show up.

Are there additional steps I have to take for it to be available in Vdub under Win98? If I go into Control panel>Multimedia the xvid codec is listed there.

I had to rewrite the installer for xvid-1.1-final from scratch. Since win98 isn't even supported by microsoft anymore I decided to go the lazy path and don't

1) grab in the deep boxes of eternity for a win98 installer cd
2) install that OS
3) get all necessary drivers and stuff
3) Fix my computer so it will boot correctly again into OSes that I want to
4) Then spend hours to find out the correct registry-keys and directories for win98 again.

Win98 is now older than 8 years. It might be time to upgrade -- sorry, but that's my honest oppinion.
