I have been reading a lot about how the entertainment industry will handle the growing digital age. Now i bet this topic has been here before but i want to put in my 2 cents.
Since being able to back up dvd i have been buying more movies and forcing the rental store to buy more copies theirself. The industry in general has seen an increase of my personal spending to well over 1000%. Before backup i bought maybe 1 movie a year. Last year i must have bought 15 movies. As for sequals well I didn't pay when i saw Saw I. However, not only did i buy the dvd of Saw II but also went the the theater to see it twice. Had i not had access to the first movie i might not have "saw" the second one at all.
Let me recap.
People have more movies. People buy more equipment to watch movis on. Digital technology is driven by comsumer demands. Movie industry is drivin by better technology. Movie industry has more money to spend on newer technology because PEOPLE SPEND MORE $#@#ING MONEY !!!
Bottom line
There is no moral issue fixing that anyone owes this indurtry.
