I appreciate everyone that has responded and I have read the links that some of you have provided...this seems to be the problem....when I use the PGCedit tool to rip with DVD Decryptor I am NOT receiving the I/O error and I am not getting an option to "ABORT". What happens is this......It starts ripping but as soon as it gets to the following in the "Progress" area....Current 16% and Total 4% everything just seems to shut down. The Read rate goes to 0 and nothing appears to be happening. It says that it is extracting sectors, but I have let this go on for close to 2 hours with no progress. Again, NO I/O error ever appears and I just end up hitting the red "cancel" button. This problem doesn't seem to be addressed in any of the threads I have been directed to, thus I have no idea what to do or any reason why this is happening. Not sure that it matters, but my burner is a Sony DRX-720UL exterior unit. Again thanks to all that are trying to help; this is so fustrating but I am determined to get to the bottom of this........thanks again.

Sorry to add to your frustration but, you really shouldn't repeatedly start new threads for the same problem. Just continue posting in the last thread in which this topic was addressed...

(If, since you've been unsuccessful using freeware, you're interested in a commercial one-step program, just say so...)

durk - are you sure your DVD is ARccOS protected? My Wedding Crashers (R4) is not. Find out 4 sure in PgcEdit (http://www.videohelp.com/~r0lZ/pgcedit/index.html) by Plugins - PSL2 - Advanced - Find Protected Titles.

Post a log of the rip please.
