I have legal copies of both uLead DVD Movie Factory (ver. 3SE) and Pinnacle Studio (ver. 8), both of which can encode MPEG2. Is there any way to use one of these encoders for other software, such as VirtualDub or SUPER?

you'll probably get better performance using a free encoder anyway...
you might be able to frameserve into these apps and then use the inbuilt encoder if all else fails. virtualdub allows making fake avis, which might just load nicely into ulead/pinnacle.
there's also a lil' fake avi maker that takes an avs script and outputs an avi which you can use.
but QuEnc or HC is probably a better option. no reason not to use them.
