View Full Version : Fastest encoding program (avi -> wmv)

Hi, I want to encode some avi (Xvid) video into wmv videos. Currently I'm using TMPGEnc Express 3.0, it's really slow. My system is a Sempron 3100 (oc'd at 2.33ghz), 2gb of DDR ram (3200), (don't know if this matters) PNY nVidia 5500 agp video card. Right now, with noise reduction feature on, it takes 4-4.5hrs to encode a 25 minute avi video to wmv. Is there any program that can do this faster? Thanks.

AFAIK Movie Maker can encode in realtime from a live input.

Does it have a noise reduction feature? My source video is pretty noisy, so having a noise filter helps (denoise feature). Thanks for the reply.

Sorry, i don't know. I don't use MicroSoft softwares (nor codecs/containers). Just try yourself:
