D2S 123b1 (D2SRoBa 3.80)
CCE 267023

Original material is NTSC interlaced.

I have configured the CCE templates for "Progressive" and "Interlaced" material as per the sticky in this forum.

When I process this DVD to SVCD, and I select in the Encoder tab, CCE Advanced Options (via dropdown), the "Interlaced" template I setup in CCE, is it necessary to select a "Deinterlacing" method in the Conversion tab of DVD2SVCD as well?

TIA

In the Deinterlace dropdown box in the Conversion tab, select "Keep interlaced"

Note that this is different from "No deinterlacing"

What exactly does "Keep Interlaced" do, and what exactly does the 'Interlaced' template I created in CCE do? I mean differently from one another.

Because I did sample re-encodes using only the CCE template 'Interlaced' and one using the template together with "Keep Interlaced" and I could not visually tell the sample re-encodes apart from one another.

Keep interlaced overrides Progressive Scan and Zigzag scanning order in the CCE advanced settings.
Templates are not something I mess with too much so my knowledge is limited.
