Just for general information. I was talking to the owner of my local video store where I purchase the majority of my DVD's, and we were talking about the new Sony copy protection schemes. He relayed to me that since they have come out with the new copy protection, the return rate on Sony DVD's is about 1 out of every 10 movies he sells, because the DVD's will not play, or the movie will jump all over the place.
Seems that their copy protection (corruption) is now getting to the point where the DVD's are becoming unplayable.

Any idea on what titles had more problems than others?

If you could ask your buddy that would be nice.

thanks

@Digenes

I wonder what portion of those "problematic" returns were made by people who were unsuccessful at trying to make backup copies, due simply to a lack of knowledge about overcoming "ARccOS" copy protection...

Now that would really be a good question, and sorry don't have the answer to that one.

If you consider that I've bought hundreds, and rented many hundreds more, and never once had a purchased one fail to play or resist back-up (except Aliens SE which played fine but gave errors upon backup) and never had a rental fail to play unless it had an obvious crack or scratch, the figure is pretty remarkable.
