remove Trailers with PGCedit

Hi,

I tried to remove the Trailers from my DVD with pgcedit, but i have no success.

DVD looks like in the picture. I want to remove the marked Trailers. I tried to kill PGC but the vob's stay untouched. The Trailers are included in the main VTS (VTS_15) where also the Main movie is in.

So, how can I remove these Trailers??

You should use VobBlanker to blank them. It's easier than with PgcEdit, though it is possible to use the remap VOB/Cell ID buttons in the PGC Editor to assign a tiny black cell to each cell in the titles you want to remove, and then use FixVTS or VobBlanker to strip the unreferenced cells from the VOB files.

I've done it that way :) and used FixVTS.

Everything worked well.

But it is possible to edit the structure of the DVD and delete the unwanted vob's and remake the ifo?? because I have about VTS_1 to VTS_14 who are blank. The size is only about a few kb, but the DVD Structure looks ugly with all the tiny VTS, which are unnecessary

It's possible, but not easy. You have to remove all references to the titlesets you want to delete, or your DVD will crash if it tries to access a deleted PGC. See this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=103731) on this subject.

I had a similar DVD, where i could not use PGCEdit to replace the Trailers with tiny black Cell. DVD Structure was the same, when I replaced the Trailers with a tiny black cell, it was fine. But i needed to kill PGC Playback (becaus i dont want black screens to pop up ;) ) and the moment i've done that the hole movie has been removed :(


So i used vobblanker to remove evrything i did not want. But result is this:

Kill Playback cannot hide the main movie, unless you explicitely kill playoack on it. But you need to use the Kill Playback function, not the kill playback option of the Blank Out All Titles in Domain function. In the latter case, all titles of the current domain are deleted. Note that Kill Playback doesn't remove the cells from the VOB files.
Could you try to kill playback with PgcEdit, and then blank the same titles in VobBlanker, but without the VobBlanker's "change post into precomm" option (which is the VB equivalent of Kill Playback.) Maybe it will work.

OK, I loaded the original DVD in PGCEdit and removed evrything I wanted to remove. The red marked area, were the Trailers (4 of them, each trailer was 4 times there)!! Now evrything is fine, except, that when i go to extras --> trailers --> select one, ther comes a black screen for about a second. And i don't want that, so i tried to kill Playback ( strg + k , when i do that, the runtime of the main movie is set to 0:00:00)

You can safely ignore this message, and even turn it off with the Options -> Input/Output -> Automatically launch 'Fix number of streams in VMGM/VTSI_MAT'? menu.
(BTW, I think I will remove the checks for 0 or 1 subpic streams in menu PGCs, as this popup warning comes too often, and there are no problems when leaving the original value.)

No, as I said, you cannot use the kill playback option in the 'Blank Out All PGCs' dialog. As its name implies, it blanks all PGCS of the current domain, including the main title PGCs (Titles 15-20).
To kill playback on the trailers only, wou will have to select the trailer PGC, and use the PGC -> Kill Playback menu (or Ctrl-K, or the Kill PGC Playback icon), and repeat this operation on all the trailers PGCs (Titles 21-44.)
Kill playback do not change the playback duration of the PGC. It just changes the VM commands of the PGC so that the video is never played.
