Broken VOB (for lack of a better title)

Okay, here's my situation:

I ripped a DVD with DVD Decrypter but during the process I received an I/O error. This is due to a small crack in the disk that is, at most, 1/8" long. The
error occurred on the very last file being decrypted. MOST of that file successfully decryped. Since Decrypter couldn't get past the problem, it left me no choice but to cancel. I saved the incomplete VOB and played it. All that was missing is part of the credits, which I can live without.

When I tried to open the ripped files in Shrink, it wouldn't recognize the existance of the VOB files in the folder. My question is this: Are there any programs around that can fix the file with a minimum of user input; I'm no VOB surgeon.

Maybe use something to cut the bad part off of the VOB. I know the programs that do it, but forgot the name. Someone will come along and post it in a minute I hope.

Hi!

Rip the original DVD again with DVD Decrypter v.3.5.4 in "File" mode (set to "ALL files", NOT "movie files") - and from the "Tools" dropdown menu set as follows:

Tools>>Settings>>I/O

Set "Software read error retries" to -0-

Set "Software write error retries" to -0-

Put a checkmark next to "Ignore read errors"

(Remember to reset these setting to their previous settings when you've finished)

Thanks for the input, but I had already made those adjustments prior to ripping the disk, in anticipation of DVD Decrypter's inevidable outrage that I would present it with a broken disk to begin with. In truth, I never imagined Decrypter would get as far as it did, but it just seems that, with the entire movie playable and residing on my HD, there should be a way to get it encoded and burned to disk. Perhaps the Grand Wizard himself, Lightning UK!, will provide a solution.
