View Full Version : Two bugs in DVD-RB Pro 1.07.2

I found two bugs in DVD-RB.

The first is only cosmetic. If you open a new window in DVD-RB (about, setup, show readme, ...) a "-" will be inserted in the title bar just before the version. After opening a few windows the title can look like this:
DVD Rebuilder Professional Edition - - - - - - - - - - v1.07.2
When you restore it after a minimization all "-" are gone, even the one that's there when you start the program.

The second bug is about Half D1. If you select Half D1 for Extras everything will work as intended. But if you select Half D1 and Half Space for Extras the extras get half the bitrate but they are not resized. You have to set Half D1 for the extras via the AVS Expert Options manually to get it working the way it should.
I tested this with 4 different DVDs and the results were the same everytime.

Additionally I have a request. Would it be possible to add an option to select for every VTS if it should be considered as extra or not? Recently I did backups of some TV series and on these DVDs the episodes are on different VTSs. In addition to that there were some extras in other VTS and it would be great if you could manage all this from inside of DVD-RB.

Fixed for v1.08... The "-" thing was really silly... it was a line of test code I'd left in accidentally. I'll have to look at the "Extra" thing. One thing that can get in the way is that some attributes have to be set for an entire VTS not just portions (like Half-D1 or Aspect Ratio).

I would recommend that Half/Half or Extra reduction never be used on episodic discs. There is no reliable way for software to determine what is Extras or Feature other than VTS or PGC size...

That's why I wanted a manual option to select what VTSs are Extras. I can determine what is Extra or Feature ;) .

It's ok if you can select it for a VTS.

I think this has been mentioned before, maybe a few months back. I'd like this option as well. Since the Options is in tree view layout, maybe add one more node Main Feature VTS under Advanced (Expert) Options, listing all the VTS. The largest VTS will be automatically checked. The user will then check those VTS to be also considered Main Feature. This way the Main Feature Matrix will be applied to those checked VTS, and the Prepare phase will allocate the bitrate accordingly. Of course, by default, these checkboxes should be cleared for every new project, so that only 1 largest VTS is considered "Main Feature" by default.

With this option, Half/Half and Extra reduction can be used on those unchecked, aka Extras, VTS.

So can this be on the to-do list? ;)

I'll throw in my request for such a feature as well...

Ditto, I would love to see this feature.
