I was wondering if it is possible to set up DVD-RB so that it automatically skips things such as Adverts and DVD Disclaimers?

Thanks

It would be a nice feature to add to DVD-RB Pro then ;)

in all honesty vobblanker once mastered can be your greatest friend when reencoding a dvd

You can use the DVD-RB Segment Viewer/Editor to remove them.

you can use the segment editor to get rid of most things. alot of the warnings etc are in the vmg vts (video_ts.vob) which i imagine jdobbs will add the ability to rebuild as well therefor giving it a place in the segment editor so you can kill stuff.

automatic removal is trickier.. vobblanker has the option to blank anything in the menu areas that has no buttons.. which will kill warnings.. but also kills some transition segments between menus.. (which you may or may not want to do)

and of course you can use something like pgcedit to change/add pre commands to skip things.

In fact, changing the post commands in an unwanted PGC to precommands will totally by-pass the PGC. Of course, you may still wanna blank it out with VobBlanker (http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm).

A note on the segment editor in DVD-RB Pro: It can only blank stuff that it will process. A lot of times warnings and logos are in small VTS which DVD-RB does not process (under 50MB by default), so you will have to use one of the other programs mentioned to kill playback or blank them.

Also, PCGEdit can blank out (remove) entire VTS, which is usually all that is needed when combined with DVD-RB's segment editor to blank segments of larger VTS. The advantage over using VOBBlanker or DVDReMake is that the changes occur "in place", meaning you don't have to copy the results to another folder.

VobBlanker (http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm) can also process in place (tick Use Input Folder) but the real advantage of PgcEdit (http://www.videohelp.com/~r0lZ/pgcedit/index.html) is speed. Blanking a whole VTS is done in a second. As well, it kills playback, so you don't even see 1/2 second of black video :)

And, of course, if you want to blank stuff smaller than 50Mb in DVD Rebuilder (http://dvd-rb.dvd2go.org/), users can insert in their ini file the vts_min_size=0 (say) line.

or in the dvdrb ini file add

VTSM_MIN_SIZE=1
VTS_MIN_SIZE=1

which should catch anything - unless the warnings and stuff are unde a mb in size :)

Using this old thread so folks know I searched & am aware at least of the VTS/VTSM MIN settings... Often times "title cards" remain in place on DVD-RB backups, most annoyingly after "Play Movie" on the Menu i.e. before the movie actually starts:

"THIS MOTION PICTURE IS RATED PG-13"
"The views expressed in the interviews/commentary..."
"Interpol will get you if you're bad..." (really--do they have jurisdiction in the US too ;) )

Anyway as a result I always take care to look for these buggers, since many times the reason I'm backing-up my DVD in the first place is to improve my viewing experience!!! The way I deal with them is just to blank them (afterwards) with PgcEdit, but wouldn't it be nice if I could do this from within RB's Preview/Editor? Many times they are buried in something called VMGM (the root menu I guess) so RB doesn't even look there? Any hope for a future enhancement or is this not even on the radar screen (if that's the case I'm sure jdobbs has good reason).
