hi there,

i have a corrupted .RAR archive sitting on my hard drive. its 117MB in size, and i know its missing 320KB. there are 12 files inside, of which ive sucessfully extracted 9. the remaining 3 generate a 'the file is corrupt' error

ive tried the 'repair archive' function on WinRAR and tried using Advanced RAR Repair but neither have solved this issue

any possible solutions?

thanks!

If the missing 320 KB belongs to these 3 files, then you are SOL. Try extracting by checking 'Keep broken files' in the Extract dialog. Also depending on the kind of files which are in there, the repaired files could be usable to totally useless. For example, if its a movie file, then you might be able to get off with a small glitch during playback. If its an image, then expect parts of the image to be corrupted.

P.S: Try Googling for this, I am getting plenty of hits.

i managed to extract the remaining files by checking the 'broken' option as you suggested. they are audio files so there was a little bit missing but i got rid of that with goldwave

sounds almost perfect now. thanks for the help!
