I have a movie (divx) in PAL format. The video plays fine but the audio sounds speeded up (higher than normal). The audio/video synch is fine. Is there anyway to recode the audio so that everyone doesn't sound like chipmunks? Thanks.

Hi!
How did you encode it (which encoder, what settings?) when you originally made the DivX-compressed .AVI

Unfortunately it wasn't my rip. It was a file I picked up. Here's what gSpot says about the clip:

U can do a time-stretch without pitch preservation (resampled) to get a larger re-pitched audio track to whatever frequency u consider optimal (when u enlarge audio the resampling takes the pitch down, when shorting it raises the pitch up), then apply another time-stretch WITH pitch preservation to sorten the file to the original length.
Smack that pitch up!!
