I recently purchased and installed my first SATA drive, a SATA-1 80GB Hitachi, 8MB buffer, 7200RPM with both standard and SATA power connectors.
By using the standard power connector, which is further removed from the data cable and seems to be better shielded, I have noticed a reduction in "noise" in video output. Why is this? Are the drive interfaces not what they could be, do I need a better molex cable, or is it a PSU issue?
