Error - Capturing Video

I have used Win DV for a long time to capture video. All of a sudden I am
getting an runtime error as soon as it begins. I have tried other tapes ans software as well. Some software doesn't even recognize my camera?

Does anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this?

I did try that, I think it may be a firewire issue. I checked device manager and my device is recognized. However, my external hardrive disappears from my list of drives, and my video capturing no longer works? Any suggestions?

If your O/S is WinXP, try performing a "System Restore" back to the last time things were working properly...
