every time I open the rebuilder.inf in rb-opt, it suddenly closes.

Has anyone experienced this? is there a workaround? thank you.

There is no workaround yet. RBOpt can't handle DVD-RB's new Menu encoding feature, so it crashes. I have been doing a Prepare, without menu encoding enabled, using RBOpt to check bitrates and such, then after choosing matrices, re-enabling the menu encoding just before the final Prepare. Maybe Robot1 can eventually find some time to adjust things, or jdobbs can work in bitrate reports for the Extras.

Ecl Optimiser still works for general VTS bitrate adjustments. It doesn't change the menu bitrates, but it will adjust the other VTS sizes properly.

SpazzHH, wouldn't running the prepare step again wipe out any changes made with RB-OPt?

Yes it would, but I don't use it to make changes, only to check what the bitrate of the Extras segments is going to be.

@all

I've sent an email to Robot1 informing him (or her, as the case may be :confused: ) of this dilema. As I'm sure I'm not the only one who's reported this, I'd not be surprised if we either have a work-around or new version sometime soon. I'll post the reply if I should recieve one either way.

Anyone know if there is a way to either select multiple VTS VOBIDs so I can change the CCE preset filter settings for everything all at once? Doing it one by one is kind of a pain.

FYI, I have not had this problem opening and using the .inf in RB-Opt v21 (created by DVD RB 1.08.1, menu encoding enabled). Perhaps this problem is related to particular titles(?)

I have had the problem. The app just closes after you click on rebuilder.inf.

I just got an e-mail from robot1 a couple days ago. He has been pretty busy, but he has a good idea of what the problem is and should have a fix coming right up.

It appears that the problem is related to particular dvd menu titles, that's why not everyone is experiencing it :)

well, for me RB-Opt simply refuses to save my settings (even though I have not enabled menu encoding). It acts as if I'd asked it to run OPV, even though VBR is clearly enabled. I hope a fix is on the way, cos I really enjoy using it.

A few days ago I did my first OPV job ever - and for some reason i seems as if RB-opt somehow remembers the settings from this job. I've reinstalled CCE, thinking this might have something to do with my problem (though, obviously it did not, duh!), and I've deleted my RB-Opt ini-file, hoping it would start from scratch. Does RB-Opt write anything to the registry (maybe deleting any such entry would bring me back to scratch)?
