xvid played by DivX decoder filter

Hi
After installing Xvid Codec, avis with XVID fourcc are atill played by DivX decoder filter. How can I change that?

First make sure you enabled the xvid fourcc in the xvid decoder (config) and are not using a player that will always prefer the divx decoder, for example because it uses its own priorities, not those of direct show, such is for example possible to set in MPC. Then you have several options - disable xvid support in divx (if that is possible) uninstall divx, or try to set xvid 's merit in direct show to a higher value than the merit of divx - there are different tools that can do that, a search here or on google for "merit" combined with something like direct show or filter.

I have changed the DivX merit and all works as expected.

Or instead of changing the merit, you could just go into the decoder configuration tool and turn off "Support Generic MPEG-4" :)
