View Full Version : Possible to put USB hard drives to sleep?

I have 7 hard drives connected with various USB adapters. Since they are only occasionally accessed, I would like to have them spin down after a period of inactivity to save on power and wear. Setting drive spin-down times in windows' power management only affects my internal drives.

Is there any way to MAKE them spin down? Maybe a new USB-to-IDE driver with this feature? I can't be the first person to think of this.
