Hi-Def demo clips at this site are problematic. They only play in VLC player and nothing else that I've found. DGIndex can't open them either. I'd like to be able to convert one to H.264 using DGDecode and avisynth.

Thanks

Please point me to one specific clip at the site that causes problems.

All of them do. They are all probably encoded with the same software.

Just pick the one thats most convenient to download.

>DGIndex can't open them

OK, I downloaded what was called Demo 6 on the web page, but which has file name "hdtv_demo2.tp".

It opens just fine in the latest DGIndex.

Is the latest version 1.4.6 final?

I tried opening that exact same video and it wouldn't open for me.

It just gives me a blank screen with no video.

This is my first experience opening transport streams. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

This is my first experience opening transport streams. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Yes, you are not reading the Users Manual. :)

Read up about the Stream menu to learn how to set your transport PIDs.
