Does anybody know how to locate and change the bios in a harddrive. I am looking to change the title that the mobo reads. Its a small perk that could lead to a big upgrade in another project.

hard drive detecting tools are available in the hard drive manufacturer's sites . also available, bios upgrade for few models of hard drive .
but to change the title that mobo reads, there are few options . but not easy .
download current (hdd) bios in your pc, make backup, then, change the title inside the file, now replace the current one with the changed one .
to change title, someon have to dis-assemble the bios file . (unless you already know exact location) .
or, dis-assemble the bios of the mobo (motherboard), change code, to show/supply different name, for that specific model of hard drive .
somewhere seen a dos utility (like, debug) which can change many hard drive infos . so it becomes friendly and safer, in a old mobo, to use it under windows .
