Okay, my digital camera is capable of recording and playing back movies.

Exlim has a program where you email the 20 320x240 jpg or bmp files and they will send you a video that is able to pplay back on your computer. Nice in concept, but there are many of us who want to play back longer clips and encode the video ourselves. So far the movie's I created in Virtualdub aren't playing back.

As you can see, it looks like all pretty standard stuff. As you can see it can play different framerates at different bitrates at a fixed resolution. Both are in the avi file container, and work with or without audio. Not much more I can say about it.

You can open The file ?
If you can, you can invoke the file in Avs with DirectShowSource
And encode with megui, staxrip and on...

Hmm, maybe you don't understand. I wan't to encode the files to work on my camera, and I want to know what I need for that. At the moment I believe if I can find a Motion JPEG including Huffman Tables codec, it might work as is.

So far the closest I have to video is ripping 10 FPS of a video, and converting it to be combatible with my camera. I am able to scroll through the pictures, but that isn't a tru movie and it has know audio. Think of it as a really fast slide show.

I found out how to get my camera to playback video.
1. Fire up Virtualdub, and add a 320x240 rezsize filter. Letterbox if needed.
2. Go to framerate, and convert the fps to 10.
3. For the codec, goto ffdshow video pack. From the dropdown menu select MJPG. Set the bitrate at around 500. I don't think this matter much, because I've had it go to 1000 and it was just fine (an test episode of Invader Zim :)
4. For audio, select "Source Audio"
5. Click on conversion and changing the Sampling rate to 11025Hz, the Precision to 8-bit, and the channels to mono.
5. Encode and save as something easy like "prep.avi"
6. Reload Vdub and open prep.avi
7. One the main menu, save the audio as "audio.wav"
8. Select direct stream copy for the video, and no audio. Save avi as "append.avi"

Now this is where the trick comes into play. The camera should be physically capable of playing back this file, but it won't. Download and extract one of the movies here. (http://world.casio.com/exilim/en/avenue/function/ending_dl.html) Now open it in Virtualdub and append the video you just encoded. Select direct stream copy for the video, and for the audio select from wav. Under the audio tab, click on interleaving. Add 2000 millisenconds to skew the audio past the key clip. If you don't do this it will be out of synch.. Save as a proper name the camera will recognize. CIMG0001.AVI will work if it isn't preexisiting. Copy to your camera and voila!

It's kinda funny how I was able to do this all my self. I guess I just amde a decent guide for anybody else who wants to do the same.
